Presidents Report

Dear members,

On Saturday June 23rd we have our Airshow Beneficiaries and Open Day planned. This is where all of the hard work we had put into the airshow rewards the community with cash donations to support deserving organisations.

This year’s airshow was the most successful yet, where we have raised a record amount of money for the community. We as a Club should feel very proud of what we have achieved together.

In addition to the cheque giving ceremony, we will be opening up the Airport for the Community to take a look around and offer attendees a free sausage sizzle lunch.

I ask all owners of interesting aircraft to put them on display and show them off. These community engagements are fabulous opportunity for PAC to remain a valued contributor to the Tyabb and district neighbourhood, and a great way to bring the community onto the Airport.

The event kicks off around 11:00am, lunch at Noon for the BBQ sizzle, presentations at 12:30pm and close at 4pm. Everyone is invited and I hope you can make it and help support the community.

Whilst the weather has been up and down over the past month, we have managed to get some spectacular days to go flying. If you haven’t flown for a while, consider talking with the instructors in Flight Ops and doing a circuit or two just to brush up on your skills, you never know you may learn a new thing or two along the way.

You may have already picked up that we have reinstated Night Ratings, Single Engine IFR and have the new Simulator ready to support you with your learning and development. Give Sundeep our CFI a call, or drop in and discuss your options to learn a new skill or brush up on one you have already attained.

Speaking of Instructors, we have a new “old” face back behind the yoke with Peter Philips returning to PAC after a couple of years away. Those of you that don’t know Peter, he is a highly experienced and well respected instructor with a wealth of knowledge to share. When in Flight Ops take the time to welcome him back and have a chat about what he can do to assist you become a better pilot.

Kind regards
Jack
