And underneath the Christmas Tree was a stack of GPS devices and new maps. For members of the Peninsula Aero Club are two new Cessna C-162 Skycatchers. Yes! Twelve months ahead of time thanks to Brian Jones and great help from Judy Pay. That means we have some surplus aircraft to pass on to some lucky people. There will be a C-152 and a Gazelle, with tenders being announced very soon. While we want to do our best to notify all members, it may be worth your while to place your name down at the Office and keep an eye on the notice board too.
The clubhouse is looking very spic and span with its new paint and signs. Thanks to Greg Payet for overseeing this task as well as the fuel pump weather cover. Barry Thomson had taken the construction of the concrete tie-down pads under his wing, so don't delay if you would like your own permanent hard stand. There's been a lot happening around the club and it's hard to keep up!
Please take care on the grass. It's still soft in places and there are a lot of ruts when you get close to the taxiway. Whilst we are working to fill them in, there are some people who are still making fresh ones.
Can I take time to wish all, from myself and your hard-working Committee, a happy and safe Christmas. To our hard-working Ops Staff, who have had so many wet, windy and unflyable weekends, Summer is coming, I think.
A happy festive season to you all.
President Peter
